Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is accused in a civil lawsuit of physically assaulting a woman numerous times over 19 months, with the plaintiff adding that she was pregnant during many of the alleged assaults.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in Dallas County, Texas, District Court, alleges that Rice grabbed, choked, strangled, pushed, scratched, hit and headbutted Dacoda Jones over several months from December 2023 to July 2025.

It also alleges that Rice threw objects at Jones, that he would destroy property and that he lock her out in the middle of the night. The suit did not specify what Rice's relationship to Jones was, but it says the pair lived together.

The suit says the alleged incidents caused “severe and permanent injuries.”

"Following an escalation in violent behavior, in December 2023, defendant Rashee Rice strangled plaintiff Dacoda Jones at their shared home in Victory Park, Texas," the suit says.

A representative for Rice did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.

Jones is seeking over $1 million in damages.

Last year, Rice was suspended for six games after he pleaded guilty to felony charges related to a March 2024 crash on a Dallas highway. Prosecutors said he was driving a Lamborghini Urus SUV at 119 mph and hit other vehicles. After the crash, he ran away.

As part of a plea agreement, Rice was sentenced to five years of deferred probation and 30 days in jail as a condition of his probation. He was also required to pay the victims for their out-of-pocket medical expenses.
