Ed Sheeran says he's moving stateside.

The English pop singer broke the news Sunday that he is moving to the United States on "The 2 Johnnies Podcast."

Sheeran joked that "I might be the only person moving to America" right now, perhaps referring to the tense political climate in the United States and ongoing Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids across the country.

Sheeran said that he decided to move across the pond because he is going on tour in the United States for a while and that he can't "dip in and out" of his family, so he and his wife and two daughters are going to settle in the States.

It's unclear when Sheeran will be touring in the United States, as his website doesn't list any upcoming tour dates in the country, except a performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sept. 20.

Sheeran's new album, "Play," which releases Friday, may serve as the backbone for an upcoming tour.
