Donald Trump has won the Alabama contest, NBC News projects, and secured the state’s nine Electoral College votes. In 2020, Trump won Alabama with 62% of the vote to Joe Biden’s 37%. In 2016, Trump won Alabama with 63% to Hillary Clinton’s 35%. The state is considered a Republican stronghold and last voted for the Democratic presidential nominee in 1976.
